Paris Travel Guide: First Time Traveler’s

So you’re going to Paris! Woo-hoo! But you only have two days? No problem!

Whether your proposing to your loved one, or having a girls trip, I have the perfect list of things for you to do!

Below are a list of things you simply cannot miss out on.

(Note: This is list is best suited for travellers who have never been before)

Eiffel Tower at Night

Eiffel Tower at Night

Number #1

Go and see the Eiffel Tower.

Obviously I’m going to see that, you’re probably thinking.

Let me give you a tip…..If you want to go up to the top of the Eiffel Tower, go SUPER EARLY or LATE in the evening! I made the mistake of going around late afternoon. This resulted in being squashed against the elevator window for what it seemed like forever due to how slow the elevator is.

So if you are planning on visiting Paris in summer you’re in luck! The Eiffel Tower opens from 9 am to midnight in mid-June right through to early September. I would go all the way up to the top! There is an option to go halfway.

You only have 2 days in Paris! Of course you should pre-book your tickets online here.

Want to have dinner at the best place in Paris? Well, The 58 Tour has you covered. Yes you can dine on the first level of the Eiffel Tower! Check it out here.

Musée du Louvre

Musée du Louvre

Number #2

Visit the famous Musée du Louvre

Unless you want to be elbowing your way through the crowd to see the Mona Lisa, I suggest wake up early on day 2 and pre purchase your tickets again! You won’t regret it, even if you’re a tad grumpy waking up early on you holiday!

I would allow a few hours to have a leisurely stroll through the museum and soak up all the other beautiful pieces that have earned  their right to be on display in one of the worlds most famous museums.

Arc de Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe

Number #3

Visit the Arc de Triomphe. You can even climb up all the way to the top to get that perfect Parisian view.

Love Lock Bridge

Pont Des Arts Bridge

Love Locks

Number #4

The Pont Des Arts Bridge on The Seine River was once famous for lovers coming to Paris and attaching locks to the bridge.. however Paris has officially removed locks from the bridge. It is still worth a visit, and you can stroll down the beautiful Seine River whilst browsing at local stalls.

Notre Dame, Paris

Notre Dame, Paris

Number #5

Get a FREE guided tour of the inside of the Notre Dame. You can meet at the back of the Catherdral for these tours, more information here. Please be aware of people trying to sell you tickets to “Skip the lines” at the Notre Dame. THERE IS NO SUCH THING! They are scammers, so please don’t fall for that trap.

Moulin Rouge, Paris

Moulin Rouge, Paris

Number #6

We have all seen the movie… and the real thing is amazing, but smaller than expected. This was one of my most memorable activities in Paris. (See a show at the Moulin Rouge). It is a must!

Streets of Paris

Number #7

Wander and get lost in the streets of Paris! Find hidden Cafes and mingle with the locals.

I didn’t get to visit Montmartre when I was in Paris. If you have time, most definitely schedule it in!
