Top 5 Great Things To Do In Venice, Italy.

Ciao! Let me take you through the gorgeous streets of Venice, Italy and the “Top Great Things” to do in this magical city.

The Grand Canal

So you have seen a million photos of it .. and it’s probably the reason you came to Venice. The Grand Canal is something that you cannot miss in Venice ! We are talking bucket list goals! (You can read about more Italian bucket list destinations here). I would advise booking your gondola ride in ADVANCED if you’re not going with a tour group that’s already looked after the booking for you.

My friends and I got a bottle of wine for our gondola ride and a charming Italian man to row our gondola. He even sings for you as well!

DO NOT MISS THIS! Even if you are on a budget, you should probably splurge here.

Scala Contarini del Bovolo

A beautiful fairytale stair case. There is an admission fee to go upstairs , but will have great views of Venice.

Saint Mark’s Basilica (Basilica di San Marco)

I recommend booking a tour so that you can skip the lines if you want to view the inside of this gorgeous Basilica. Please follow the church dress code.

Outfits must be below the knees and your shoulders covered, or you might be denied entry.

Torre dell’Orologio

Located within St Marks square, you cannot miss this beautiful bell tower. The tower has such gorgeous detail, and is worth taking a tour if you are particularly interested in the history, and want to see inside.

Dinner in Venice

This is one of my fondest memories in Venice, is having a 5 course dinner! The food just kept COMING! Pasta, bruschetta, antipasto.. the list goes on!

I went to Venice with a Contiki tour, and we had dinner in a intimate restaurant, and there was lots of dancing and music by buskers that just strolled in with the accordion and started playing!

If your with a loved one, there are plenty of people selling roses on the street, and will stroll into your restaurant at the right time! Just to make your experience is extra cheesy and romantic! When in Venice ..right?

Let me know if you have been to Venice, and how your experience was there? Comment below!
