The five primary precious metals are gold, silver, platinum, rhodium and palladium. They are also referred to as “fine metals” and are the only metals considered fine jewelry metals.
Precious metals are rare, naturally occurring metallic elements that are high in economic value and its value has been held for centuries. Precious metals are less reactive than other metals, making the metals durable for long term wear. Because of their value, they are more likely to be recycled by companies, local jewellers or sold at a local charity shop while still maintaining its high value.
